trashion refashion runway show gets closer by the minute!

lily cole famous supermodel
Leah Kinder...my fierce model!

Sunday was the first rehearsal and I met the model Leah Kinder, FINALLY. i had been dieing to meet her. Tara Jones from exposure arts hooked me up with her. She is absolutely supermodel stunning. She has a fresh face with an exotic look, very similar to several models I have seen in print. Very excited to keep working with her. (if she'll have me) :)
so after a poor turn out and 3 hours of being coached in modeling and walking, which we did not need, we did the walk through in our order and to terrible music i might add. aerosmith, walk this way for example...icky...anyway, we had our laughs and headed to bedford to exposure arts to do a hair and makeup test run and a fitting, Leah had never even tried on the dress. to my delight it fit perfect despite the fact she kept worrying about a nipple popping out, cant blame her, it was a little drafty...:)"Nothing a little duct tape cant fix", leah said...too funny, because she meant it!
We had a quick lunch and then got started with the makeup. as annie patrick vowell worked on makeup i backcombed leahs entire scalp, about 2 inches of back combing then we did the coolest avante garde upsweep. was very impressed with annie's magic, which is why i hired her to help! Kudos to annie!  Leah went out into the sunset lighting in dress and hair and we had an impromptu photoshoot to test how it will photograph. WE were all impressed. Leah did such a great job walking and posing and she seems very aware of herself in front of the camera, despite a few stumbles from uneven asphalt. She rocks! I rock! We ALL rock!!!
I cant wait to show everyone the wow-factor of it all. Special thanks to tara jones from guerrilla shots photography for taking behind the scenes photos for me so i can focus on being the designer instead of juggling the camera bag also.
We plan to videotape the event and have personal interviews to better preserve the moment and I'll splice and edit it down until I have something to post on here, etc.
I am super excited to see at the next rehearsal, which is a dress rehearsal, so i get to see the rest of the designers work. I am not dressing the model in any accessories or hair and makeup to save the shock factor until the date of the show. i cannot wait to SET THE BAR! Ive got the best team! SERIOUSLY!
