if you build it they will come...right?

sweetest memories are my inspiration. But Ive got to keep working. every day. to make my dreams come true. Ive had some family stuff going on so I haven't been able to keep up with my most recent artistic ventures. So, finally, here's an update on what i have been up to.

I was commissioned to make a child's cloak for Guerrilla Shots Photography event called "Sugar and Spice", a sort of mother/daughter event. The cloak was a door prize for the event. I was told that the little girl who won it was so happy and shocked, she said, "you mean...I get to take this home. Its gonna be mine forever?"  it was super sweet. here's a candid photo of the cloak. Ive got to make it a point to photograph my pieces more professionally before i let them go.the event was super girly and I enjoyed looking at the photos Tara Jones did. to see more of the pics from the event click HERE.
Making this cloak was so fun for me, and I added another lil accent to make my work more professional in presentation. I added labels/tags with my logo/brand. check it out!

after this project was complete I was surprised to gain a new client by word of mouth. thanks to Gina King, a fellow artist/mentor of mine. Thanks Gina. Larry Mock contacted me and asked me if I would come up with a concept similar to this movie cloak, as pictured here:
so this is what i came up with. he also asked me if i could make a bikini out of the scrap fabrics if there were any. so, I challenged myself to a duel.  Lets make both! and so I did. here they are on my dress form and then a featured photo by Larry Mock of model LaDonna.

pretty frikkin cool aye?  Both the photographer and model were very happy with my work. first swimsuit of the year. I'm currently working on a lot of other fabrics to construct some more kick ass bikinis and i have vintage patterns that I would like to implement also. So Stay tuned. Myself and Tara Jones Guerrilla Shots Photography have some really cool plans to have an aqua shoot of my work and she'd also like me to design some costumes for her own aqua underwater concepts. So, another upcoming project for you all to look forward to. I'm wanting to use unexpected or non functional fabrics to create swimsuits as couture sculpture. finding confident non flakey models will be the challenge.

Ive also been working on this:

and i haven't decided what size i am going to make it. Id like to finish it and put this one on Leah Kinder also. My muse. ********SPECIAL THANKS TO LEAH'S MOM for sponsoring JealousyJane this month!
See, If you believe in yourself, others will too!!!! My dreams are still happening because folks like her support the local artist community. kudos!
